Guidance for Taking Ferry from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to Shekou
Passengers looking to take a ferry to Mainland China or Macao should proceed to the ferry ticketing counter at Transfer Area E2. DO NOT go through immigration and reclaim your baggage. Passengers who have gone through immigration procedures CANNOT return to the ferry ticketing counter and use the ferry service.
To use the service, passengers must:
Possess the following items:
- Same-day arrival flight air ticket / e-ticket / boarding pass stub
- A valid ferry ticket
- A valid passport and, if applicable, a visa for the intended destination (Mainland China / Macao)
- Arrive at the Ferries to Shekou Ticketing Counter located at Transfer Area E2 at least 90 minutes before the scheduled ferry departure time for ticketing and transfer procedures. For passengers without checked baggage, 30 minutes would be sufficient.
- For passengers with checked baggage, please present the airline baggage tag receipt for customs clearance and baggage transfer procedures.

Important Notice
When you reach Hong Kong International Airport, do NOT pass HK immigration for taking back your luggage. Just go to the Ticketing Counter located at Transfer Area E2 and buy a ferry ticket to Shenzhen Shekou Ferry Terminal (i.e. Shekou Cruise Terminal, NOT Macau). Ticket staff will issue a new receipt and your luggage will be transferred to the ferry to Shekou.
Once you pass Hong Kong immigration, you will NOT be allowed to return inside the airport and therefore will fail to take the ferry to Shekou.
Ferry cost approx. USD 50.00/head, to be paid by the ferry-taker in cash or credit card.
It takes only 30 minutes from HK Airport to Shenzhen Shekou by ferry.

從 2023 年 1 月 8 日起，行李掛到香港的旅客最少 90 分鐘，行李直掛到內地的旅客至少 60 分鐘，只有手提行李的旅客最少 30 分鐘。此安排暫時維持，直至另行通知。
Passengers with baggage tag-through to Hong Kong require at least 90 minutes, with baggage tag-through to Mainland require at least 60 minutes, with only hand baggage require at least 30 minutes — from 8/Jan/2023 until further notice.
